Jesus' Beard

Auntie Carie was hanging out with Sadie today. Sadie was outside playing while Carie was sitting on the patio reading a book. The conversation went like this:

Carie: "I sure am glad that Jesus is strong. I sure do love Jesus."

Sadie: "I don't."

Carie: "What!? You don't love Jesus? Why?"

Sadie: "He has a beard."

Carie: "But what if he cut it off?"

Sadie: "Well, I don't know."

Later on Sadie was talking to me and said: "Mom, can Jesus take his beard off?"

I sure do hope she starts loving Jesus no matter what he looks like!!!

Like popcorn...

On Saturday we went to the beach with all the family. Both of Brian's brothers and their wives were with us. Brian took Sadie in the ocean and when they came back he said that a wave got Sadie pretty good, but she loved being out there anyway.

A little later, Sadie and I were walking to the restroom. The conversation went like this:

Me: "Did you like going out into the ocean?"

Sadie: "Yeah, but that yucky water got in my mouth."

Me: "Yeah, that water doesn't taste very good does it?"

Sadie: "No, it's yucky. It was like popcorn in my mouth, but it was yucky."

Me: "Hahahaha, yeah it's salty like popcorn isn't it?"

Sadie: "Yeah, but it was yucky."

Love this girl!!

"Hello, Grandpa?"

I overheard Sadie playing earlier. She was talking on her pretend phone. The conversation went like this:

"Hello, Grandpa, go get on a plane and come visit us in California. And can you bring Grandma too? Okay, talk to you later. Bye"

She must miss the Ohio Grands. We love you guys!

It's Good...

This morning (after returning from Ohio last night) Sadie said:

"Mom, it's good to be back in California"!!

Yes it is!!! Although we had a wonderful time with family in Ohio!

Apple-Cado

Tonight while stuffing our taco shells with all the fillings for dinner, Sadie saw the avocado sitting on the counter (it had been cut in half). She took a look at it and said:

"That apple-cado has a bouncy ball in it."

She thinks the middle seed in an avocado is a bouncy ball!

Mr. Potato Head

Last night while Sadie was in the bathtub playing with her "bathtub" Mr. Potato Head she said this:

"Mommy, Mr. Potato Head doesn't have eyebrows."

She's just my observant little one!

Missing Daddy

Brian is speaking at a camp this week in Texas. We have been watching him online every evening. As we were watching him tonight, Sadie went into her room and came back into my room where we were watching with her little suitcase and backpack. The conversation went like this:

Sadie: "I'm going to the airport."

Me: "Oh really? Where are you going?"

Sadie: "To Texas."

Me: "Are you going to see Daddy?"

Sadie: "Yep."

We are all ready for Daddy to be back home!
